Maple Leaf Awards (International Students Studying in Canada)

If you are a non-Canadian citizen and not a Permanent Resident of Canada, but you are currently studying in Canada, then you may be eligible for one of these University of Alberta scholarships. 

In addition to these awards, you may also be eligible for:


University of Alberta Maple Leaf Centenary Scholarship

Field of Study: Open

Value: $20,000 over four years ($5,000 per year)

Quantity available: Up to 2

Conditions: 
Awarded to student(s) on Study Permit(s) with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from a high school in Canada.  Selection based on academic standing, leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular and community activities, and a counselor's letter of recommendation.  Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta, while studying on a Study Permit.  Transfer students are not eligible for this scholarship.

University of Alberta Maple Leaf First Year Excellence Scholarship

Field of Study: Open

Value: Variable

Quantity available: Variable

Conditions:
Awarded to student(s) on Study Permit(s) with superior academic achievement entering the first year of a University of Alberta undergraduate degree program from a school in Canada. Selection based on high school academic standing.

Application procedure:
You will be considered for this award after you have received admission to the University of Alberta.


Scholastic Distinction (Entrance Citations) for Maple Leaf Students

Field of Study: Open

Value: Variable

Quantity available: Variable

Conditions:
Awarded annually to students on study permit who are entering an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta from high school in Canada on the basis of top academic standing in grades 10, 11, and 12.  Receipt of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a full normal course load at the University of Alberta each year.
